Bookkeeping

Bookkeeping is the foundation everything else runs on. When your books are current and accurate, tax time stops being a scramble, you can see your actual cash position instead of guessing, and any decision that depends on the numbers — pricing, hiring, a loan application — rests on something solid.

We keep your books up to date on a regular cadence, reconcile your accounts against your bank and credit card statements, categorize transactions correctly for tax purposes, and flag anything that looks off before it becomes a problem instead of after.

Bad bookkeeping doesn't usually show up as one big mistake — it shows up as a slightly wrong GST filing, a missed deduction, or a lender asking for statements you can't produce on short notice. None of that fixes itself by waiting.

Why Choose Us

Day-to-day bookkeeping that keeps your books clean, current and ready for tax time.

  • Reviewed Accuracy
  • Regular reconciliation, not a year-end scramble
  • Clear, Upfront Pricing
  • Reliable & Reachable

Who This Is For

  • A contractor who's been tracking income and expenses in a personal spreadsheet and isn't sure it would hold up if the CRA ever asked.
  • A newly incorporated business that's never set up a proper bookkeeping system and doesn't know where to start.
  • A business that's outgrown DIY bookkeeping — transaction volume has picked up and mistakes are starting to show at tax time.

How It Works

  1. Initial review

We look at your current records — or lack of them — and tell you honestly what shape they're in.

  2. Setup or cleanup

Bank and credit card feeds connected, a chart of accounts that matches your business, and anything behind gets caught up.

  3. Ongoing bookkeeping

Transactions categorized and reconciled on the schedule we agree on.

  4. Monthly check-in

A short summary of where things stand, so you're never surprised at tax time.

If your books are behind, mixed with personal spending, or you're just not sure they're right, that's a normal place to start from. Book a free consultation and we'll tell you honestly what it will take to get current.

How often will my books actually be updated?
On a regular schedule we agree on up front — most small businesses land on monthly, some need weekly. We'll recommend a cadence based on your transaction volume and how tightly you need to watch cash flow.
My books are months behind — can you still help?
Yes. Catch-up and cleanup bookkeeping is common work for us. We'll assess how far behind things are, give you a clear scope and cost to get current, and take it from there.
What software do you work with?
We work with QuickBooks, Xero and Wave. If you're not yet set up on any of them, we can help you choose and get onboarded as part of the engagement.
Will I actually understand my own numbers?
Yes — part of the job is explaining what we're doing, not just doing it quietly in the background. You'll get a plain-language summary, not just a spreadsheet.
What's the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping is the day-to-day recording — transactions, reconciliations, categorization. Accounting, including your tax return and financial statements, is built on top of that record. Clean bookkeeping is what makes the rest of it fast and accurate.
