Phelade Consult ("we", "us", "our") is an accounting firm based in Calgary, Alberta. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, how we use it, what cookies the site sets, and how you can reach us with questions or requests.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you submit the contact form, request a consultation, or correspond with us by phone or email. This may include your name, email address, phone number, business name, and the details of your message. We do not collect financial account numbers, tax IDs, or other sensitive client records through this website — that information is only ever exchanged through secure channels once an engagement is underway.
Cookies We Use
We break this down by category rather than giving a single blanket "this site uses cookies" statement, and you can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" button in the bottom-left corner of the site.
- Necessary (always on). A session cookie used only to keep an administrator signed in to the content management system at /_emdash/admin — never set for an ordinary visitor — plus your cookie-preference choice itself, stored in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie.
- Google Fonts (optional, off until you accept it).We use the Poppins and Inter typefaces from Google's font CDN (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font from Google discloses your IP address to Google as part of that request. This is not loaded until you accept it in the cookie notice or Cookie Settings; declining still gives you a fully working site with a plain system-font fallback instead.
- Google Maps (click-to-load, not automatic).Our Contact page can show an embedded Google Map of our office. It is not loaded automatically — only if you click "Load Map" — because loading it does disclose your IP address to Google. You can always use the "Open in Google Maps" link there instead, which sends you to Google's own site rather than embedding anything here.
- Social media links (nothing to toggle). Our footer links to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and X profiles. These are plain outbound links, not embedded widgets, "Like" buttons, or tracking pixels — nothing is set on this site by their presence. If you click through, you're on that platform's site and its own cookies and privacy policy apply there, not here.
- No advertising or analytics cookies. We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or any third-party tracking or retargeting cookies. If that changes, this policy and the Cookie Settings panel will be updated to disclose and let you control it before it's added.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry, schedule consultations, and — where you become a client — to deliver bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and advisory services. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Sharing of Information
We may share information with service providers who help us operate this website or deliver our services (for example, hosting and email providers), and we may disclose information where required by law, such as to the Canada Revenue Agency in the course of a client engagement or in response to a valid legal request.
Your Rights
Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw any consent you've given for its use, subject to legal and contractual restrictions. Data Retention
We retain contact-form submissions and client records for as long as needed to respond to your inquiry, fulfil our services, and meet our professional and regulatory record-keeping obligations.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect the information submitted through this site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
